Global Head, Digital Payments, IFC - International Finance CorporationKareem Abdel Aziz is a founding member of IFC’s Global Fintech Group. IFC is arguably the most experienced and accomplished fintech investors in emerging markets, having invested in over 80 companies with 25 full exits. Kareem is the Global Head for Digital Payments investments for IFC and also leads IFC’s fintech investments in the Middle East, including Pakistan and Turkey.
Kareem has over 20 years of investment and consulting experience and has been personally responsible for more than US$1.25 billion in investments, globally. He has extensive investment experience in Latin America, South Asia and the Middle East. He has invested across a wide range of asset classes, including senior, mezzanine and venture debt, as well as early and late stage equity. He has a passion for early stage venture capital investments and is always on the look out for intriguing and transformational investment opportunities.
Most recently, Kareem has been active on the boards of Safetypay (acquired by Paysafe), Fawry (IPO on Cairo Stock Exchange), Yellowpepper (acquired by Visa), 2C2P (acquired by Ant Financial), Recargapay, GTN, MNT Halan, Oneload, and Movilred (full exit through MBO).
Kareem has an MBA from Columbia University and a BS from Rutgers University.
